Little League Champions

Shelby has been playing volleyball in the Soda Springs Little League. They have played for about 6 weeks now and had their final tournament on Friday. They played the best on Friday that I have seen them play yet - guess what? 1st Place!!! Whoo Hoo!! Good job girls. They still have a lot to learn, but this was a great start, and I think Shelby may have been bitten by the volleyball bug ~ at least I hope so. Now we may get a week or two off before basketball starts!!

Mara Mae @ USU

Mara keeps us up on what college life is like via Facebook. For those of you who aren't sucked into the world we call facebook yet I thought I would show you a few of her photos. I thinks it is fair to say that along with her studying, Mara is managing to have a good time. She has a pretty good bunch of roommates and some good friends from high school that she hangs out with a bit. So here goes:

Mara, Nicole, & Kali a little wet from their indoor water fight

Another view with Julia also

Silly girls playing around on campus with Pumba

Ever heard of how you become a "True Aggie"?

They made it through the haunted corn maze this weekend

I sure miss this kid - Love you Mara Mae!!!!

TMS Pep Rally

They had a pep rally on October 6th at TMS just before the last football game of the season. I've tried for to 2 weeks to post a video of Megan's pep rally dance and can't get it to work, so I guess you will have to just see the pictures. Here is Megan with Cassidy & Sarah getting the 8th graders to cheer:

This is the start of the pep rally dance. I didn't get many pictures because I wanted to video the dance. The video is really good - I wish I could get this figured out:
Shelby was one of the 6th graders picked to "tie up the pirate" ~ that is Mr. J in that blond wig, just in case you were wondering:
See the cute drill team girl in the middle ~ that's our cousin Sierra:
Another Cheer at the end:

Busy Weekend

Just an update from the last few days - It has been busy.
Seth ran with the cross country team Wednesday afternoon in Preston - I wasn't able to be there again because of work, but Mara drove up from Logan and them brought him home so that he could make it to the volleyball team's senior night (can't imagine why he wanted to be there?
~ I'll have to do a post on that later). Shelby had a volleyball game that night in Bancroft also. I forgot to send the camera with Mara, so I have resorted to theft again. I hope Mr. Horsley doesn't mind ~ here is Seth on the Preston course:
This is the closest thing to a good birthday picture that I could muster. You should see the others ~ O.K. maybe not. Seth's sisters made him a pretty pink cake for his birthday. It will match his class ring when it comes!! We had a few little presents and a promise of a new pair of basketball shoes. I need to figure out when to take him shopping now.
If you don't understand how hard it is to get a good picture of Seth - here's proof:

He is driving me crazy - just give me a good picture every once in a while Seth!

Shelby had her friend Sierra out for the night Thursday night ~ I had to work the next morning and went to bed just before 11:00. I told the girls that they could stay up late to watch a movie as long as they were quiet. They had a busy night playing volleyball at the church and riding the 4-wheeler. Mara snapped these photos about 20 minutes into the movie ~ I guess they were a little more tired than they thought:

Seth, the girls & I went to watch the Soda-Grace football game & watched Soda barely win in overtime. I was disappointed that Mara wasn't there - she managed to come home for the weekend and be sick the entire time. She was able to get a prescription from Dr. Young and hopefully is doing better. Saturday morning Shelby's volleyball team had a game and we went to watch. Shelby is by far the tallest on her team:

It was a busy weekend topped off by driving to Soda on Sunday morning for Stake Conference. It was a great meeting - well worth the effort to drive to town on Sunday. That is a hard one for me since it is usually the only day I don't have to leave Wayan. Now on with the rest of our week ~ it doesn't seem like things will ever slow down. I just keep going and try to remember that my kids are growing up too fast and I don't want to miss it!

Happy 17th Seth

Sometimes he is such a dork - I looked through 4 memory cards for the camera & found these 2 dopey pictures and one that I had to delete (due to content) from the first day of school. I wanted to show you what a handsome young man my Seth is and brag on him for his 17th Birthday. Maybe you won't see the handsome part, but he really is an awesome guy & he does keep things entertaining around our house. Happy Birthday bud - your mom loves you!!

Mr. Scarecrow

The girls & I had a little fun last night - Mr. Scarecrow now stands by the front door. Too bad it didn't startle the coyotes - just Jim when he headed out the door. HE HE HE!!!

General Conference Sunday

staying home + biscuits & gravy + jammies + blankets + bean bags + forecast of snow + Jim + Mara + Seth + Megan + Shelby + General Conference = Perfect Sunday morning

1st Snow

The first snow came a little too early this year in my opinion. It started storming on Sept. 30 - i drove home through Henry in a blizzard. It was a white morning for the 1st day of October. Here are a couple of pix of the snow on my front yard:

I gave our little neighbor girls a ride to town that morning & had to get a picture of them waving to Mara ~ "HI MARA". I promised Zippy that I would send it to Mara. She keeps asking where Mara is and I tried to explain that she lives in Logan now so that she can go to college. She just finally looked at me and said "I don't think I like that". Sometimes I have to agree!
